Workshop - The Virginia Informal Environments: Cultivating Vines of Commitment for STEM (VINES)

Dr. Joanna Garner from the Center for Educational Partnerships in association with the Virginia Space Grant Consortium conducted a collaborative one-day workshop for informal educators. The 55 participants from museums, zoos, parks, and historic sites from across Virginia focused on relating their organization's mission and values with STEM specific concepts and skills. Particular emphasis was given to strategies and materials that promote transformative learning experiences and role exploration known to encourage interest in STEM fields by students.
