The Leadership Lecture Series offers leadership-focused programs throughout each semester to provide you the opportunity to build on current leadership skills. Click on the link below to review the topics and register for individual workshops, or to register your entire organization for a workshop. Start your leadership journey! Students who complete three or more sessions in a semester receive a Leadership Certificate and Medal for graduation.

Health Promotion

Health Promotion coordinates university wide programs and speakers on various health topics including general wellness and nutrition, substance use, disordered eating, sexual health, stress management, etc. We offer exciting educational workshops, health information, peer training, campus events and so much more to enhance personal and academic success.

Personal Training Certification Prep-Courses

  1. 8 week comprehensive program that helps you learn the fundamentals of exercise science, exercise programming, programming design, posture and assessment, liability and risk, behavior and communication, and basic nutrition. The prep-course prepares you to take a national personal training certification exam.
  2. Program is provided online and in-person.
  3. Timeline: The program runs September 4 - October 30.
    • Every Tuesday for 8 weeks from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Group Exercise Instruction Certification Prep-Course

  1. 8 week comprehensive program that helps you learn the fundamentals of exercise sciences, components of a group fitness class, and receive practical instructions to learn to teach multiple group fitness class formats. The prep-course prepares you to take the national group exercise certification exam.
  2. Program is provided online and in-person.
  3. Timeline: The program runs September 20 - October 25.
    • Every Thursday for 6 weeks from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Online Fitness & Wellness Instruction Videos

  1. Online instructional videos provide you the opportunity to participate in Student Recreation Center Group Exercise Classes in your own home. No equipment is needed for these classes.
  2. Videos provide you the opportunity to participate in physical activity without going to a gym or fitness center and to still be a part of the Student Recreation Center community.
