Pumpkin Splash

Celebrate spooky season with floating pumpkins, pumpkin painting, a splash in the pool, and a Halloween movie! We will be playing Halloweentown beginning at 12:30 p.m. We look forward to having your family at the Old Dominion University pool!

Please register online at recwellportal.odu.edu prior to the event. See instructions below to create an account if you don't already have one. There will not be in person registration on the event day.

Cost covers up to 5 people and includes one pumpkin per family. Additional pumpkins are available to purchase during registration.

Need an account for the Rec Well Portal? Follow these steps!

If you do not have access to the Rec Well Portal yet, please follow the instructions below to create an account.

  • Visit recwellportal.odu.edu
  • Click "Sign In" in the top right
  • Click "Sign Up" at the bottom of the window
  • Complete all fields, including your home address. You may leave "member ID" blank if you are not a member of the Student Recreation Center. If you are a member, please use your member ID to link your account to your current membership (this will impact pricing).
  • Set a password
  • Click "Create Account"
  • You're all set!
  • Use this username and password to log into the portal using the "Local Account" icon. Please email recwell@odu.edu if you have issues. We are happy to assist!

Registration deadline is Wednesday, October 12th. Event must have at least 30 people signed up by October 12th to run. Refunds are only available if the event is cancelled.


We will be showing Halloweentown starting at 12:30 p.m. 1 pumpkin is included in registration, unless additional pumpkins were purchased. Paint supplies will be provided to decorate pumpkins. There will also be pool noodles and kickboards available, but you are welcome to bring your own pool floats and toys. Please note that our pool depth ranges from 4 feet in the shallow end to 15 feet in the deep end.

Pool Access

The pool is accessible through our men's and women's locker rooms, and there is a universal restroom available for changing if desired. Access to the pool will not begin until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a lifeguard on duty.

Visitor Parking

When you come to campus, you may park in lots 42, 43, and 49. Here is a campus parking map for reference. Mobile pay is the best option for hourly parking on campus to avoid ticketing. For more parking information, please visit the ODU parking webpage or contact the parking office.
