The Old Dominion University (ODU)-DOE Thomas Jefferson Lab (JLAB) Joint Institute of Advanced Computing for Energy and Science (ACES) will serve as a leading hub for data-driven scientific discovery, enabling transformative breakthroughs in national research priorities related to energy and interdisciplinary science, through cutting-edge computational capabilities and collaborative research.

Mission

ACES aims to:

  1. Advance research and innovation by harnessing advanced computing and computational tools, artificial intelligence, and multi-scale simulation.

  2. Foster collaborative scholarship between ODU and JLAB to address national needs in energy and interdisciplinary sciences.

  3. Act as a hub for workforce development and technology transfer in related areas.
