"Street Performers"
"Street Performers" - Stephanie Wasko; Morocco (February 2014); We eagerly turned the corner. We heard the rhythmic Moroccan music from afar. The scene brought a grin to my face. The older, black gentleman coolly leaned against the stunning street art playing music on his guitar while the taller, younger man added rhythms, danced, and sung. The Arabic writings, the bright blue door, the child’s patient watching face in the mural, the Moroccan dress, the local sounds; all made the moment rich with culture and excitement. To them, this was just another day playing music on the corner, but to us this was new and exotic. That is the beauty of travel; the chance to something beautiful in something that has become ordinary. This was beautiful. This was Morocco.
