Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam reappointed four members to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors, including Hampton Commissioner of the Revenue Ross A. Mugler, the Board's longest-serving member.

Mugler was appointed to the Board on Aug. 1, 2014, and was reappointed to a second four-year term on July 1, 2017.

He previously served eight years on the Board from 2002 to 2010 and was rector from 2008 to 2010. Mugler was active in the Old Dominion University Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1999 to 2007.

Mugler has served as commissioner of the revenue for the City of Hampton since 1992. He received his BSBA and MPA from Old Dominion.

The other three who were reappointed:

Robert Corn of Springfield, president of Landmark Strategies, Inc.

Corn was first appointed to the board in 2019 and chairs the Student Enhancement & Engagement Committee.

Landmark Strategies, Inc., is a national issue advocacy, grassroots engagement and campaign voter contact firm. Corn works with organizations to help engage their members in the electoral and legislative process.

He is married to Eileen Filler-Corn, the first female Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Jerri Fuller Dickseski of Hampton, executive vice president of communications for Huntington Ingalls Industries.

Dickseski was appointed to the Board on July 1, 2017, and serves as vice chair the Marketing Subcommittee as chair of the Audit & Compliance Committee.

Huntington Ingalls is the nation's largest shipbuilding company. Dickseski is responsible for external communications, media relations, advertising, executive communications, enterprise employee communications, crisis communications, corporate special events, web and social media, and branding/corporate image for Huntington Ingalls.

Dickseski earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Old Dominion.

Maurice D. Slaughter of Chesapeake, chairman and CEO of MS Family Enterprises, Inc., and president of FNO, Inc.

Slaughter was appointed to the ODU Board on July 1, 2017. He serves as vice chair of the Administration & Finance Committee.

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Slaughter received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Southern University and a master's degree in Finance from Clark Atlanta University. FNO is a real estate management company specializing in the restoration and management of historical properties in New Orleans. He is also the recipient of the "Golden Hammer Award" from the City of New Orleans and the Historical District Landmark Commission's "Gold Award."

Slaughter owns three Harley-Davidson dealerships in the greater Hampton Roads area, including Bayside Harley-Davidson in Portsmouth. In 2016, Savoy Magazine listed him as one of the "Top 100 African Americans in Corporate America."
