Letter from President John R. Broderick

Dear Monarch Community:
I extend my condolences to the victims of the horrific shootings at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center, as well as to their families, friends and all others affected by this vicious act of violence.
I pray for the recovery of those who have been hospitalized and thank police, first responders and medical professionals for their selfless work, which averted even greater tragedy.
Our hearts are with Virginia Beach today. Thousands of Monarchs work, live and study in the city, and Old Dominion stands ready to help Virginia Beach and its citizens as they undergo the difficult process of healing and recovery.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, the Student Government Association will sponsor a vigil outside Webb University Center to honor the victims. The community is invited to attend.
