Original Student Theater Group Production Upcoming: "The Complete History of America, Abridged"

Produced by Old Dominion University's Alpha Psi Omega fraternity and The Starving Artists student theatre group, "The Complete History of America, Abridged" is a 90-minute foray into the Republic's 500-year historical timeline told through slapstick humor, bad songs, hijinks and silliness.

Audience members can expect visits by undignified dignitaries like Amerigo Vespucci, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Dodge Rambler: Boy Buckaroo, Jedgar (sic) Hoover, Hawkeye Pierce, Sam Spade and Ron and Nancy Reagan. The troupe turns history into the story every high-school kid wishes they were learning.

The University Theatre Studio production will run March 22-254 at 7 p.m. and March 25 at 1 p.m. Admission is $2 (cash only) at the door, 4608 Hampton Blvd., room 1002.

"The Complete History of America, Abridged" was written by Adam Long, Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor. It was directed by Josephine Hilt, and featuresHayley Birnbaum, Sydney Johnson, Larry Lewis, Laird Percival, Aaron Rubino and Jerome Trinidad.
