VIDEO: Glass Art Exhibit to Feature Work from Award-Winning Virginian Artists
May 26, 2017
Old Dominion University's Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries is presenting Glass &, an exhibition featuring artists who are from or work in Virginia, through July 2.
The exhibition began this month in conjunction with the international Glass Art Society's annual conference, which was held at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk.
Clay McGlamory, a member of ODU's art faculty, selected the works and installations for Glass &, which represent a wide variety of technical approaches to glass, including blowing; casting; vitreous painting and printing; luminous tubing installation; flameworking, and engraving. "I want to showcase Virginia artists that are inspirational to me and others and help to celebrate Virginia's contributions to the international glass art movement," McGlamory said.
The Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries exhibits works by nationally and internationally recognized self-taught artists, contemporary artists working in all media, and local and regional artists connected with Old Dominion. Parking is available at the 45th Street garage. For more information, contact senior curator Ramona Austin at 757-683-6272 or raustin@odu.edu.
