ODU Theatre's Installation 'Time Flies' Opens Feb. 15

"Time Flies," an immersive performance installation created and directed by Jenifer Alonzo, associate professor of communication and theatre arts, at Old Dominion University, will provide guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in the luxury of endless time to breathe.

The installation, presented by ODURep at Old Dominion University, opens Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Goode Theatre, 4601 Monarch Way.

Attendees of "Time Flies" are encouraged to step out of time with the performers, sharing a sacred space, watching the seasons turn, the days progress and souls take flight.

"The women in the cast have been incredibly generous in creating movement and text that slows down time and invites reflection," Alonzo said. "The designers and their classes have set their creativity free, creating a beautiful space for actors and audience alike."

At the installation, there will be space to breathe, think, meditate and pray. It is handicapped-accessible.

Subsequent performances will be Feb. 16 to 18 and 22 to 25, all starting at 7:30.
