French Dance Troupe to Tell Story of the Marquis de Lafayette
October 09, 2017
Ten French dancers with a background in classical ballet and hip-hop will perform against a backdrop of video projections and voice-offs (with English subtitles) as they tell the story of the Marquis de Lafayette, a man who, "with all his might," fought for the well-being of all and freedom everywhere.
"La Fayette" will be performed at the Old Dominion University Theatre at 4608 Hampton Blvd. on Oct. 18-19 at 7:30 p.m. Lafayette is a theatrical and choreographic show conceived by Christine Jeannin, a former dancer from the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux. There will be a Q and A session after each performance.
Students in the French section of ODU's Department of World Languages and Cultures assisted in the show's production by translating related texts into English.
Tickets for the event are $10 for students and $12 for adults. For more information, contact Peter Schulman at 757-683-3323 or pschulma@odu.edu.
