Annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign Launches

Old Dominion is again participating in the annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), providing University faculty and staff the opportunity donate to causes locally, statewide, nationally and worldwide.

The theme for the 2017 campaign is "Virginia is for Givers." The University has set a goal of raising $110,000 during the campaign that runs through Dec. 21.

Please visit the campaign website for more information and http://cvc.vipnet.org/donors/directorylist.htm for the list of approximately 1,000 local, state, national and international organizations that can benefit from your support.

"When we give to a worthwhile cause, we have given something of ourselves, which is a good feeling," said President John R. Broderick, in a letter to campus faculty and staff. "As the late Winston Churchill put it, 'We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.'"

On Friday, Oct.13 the University will offer a campaign incentive. Anyone who donates $2 or more per pay period will receive two tickets to the Nov. 18 Oyster Bowl football game against Rice.

Also, when you return your pledge card your name will be included in the weekly drawings. The earlier you give in the campaign the more chances you have to win. Prizes include athletic tickets, Aramark vouchers, t-shirts, and much more.

"When we give from the heart, we offer hope to those in need," President Broderick said. "ODU has earned a reputation over the years for its generosity and caring, and I am sure that this proud tradition will continue through the 2017 campaign. I thank you in advance for your support of this important statewide effort."
