University's Newly Designed Website to be Unveiled Oct. 17

Old Dominion University will unveil a newly designed website Sunday, Oct. 17.
In the meantime, a "pre-production/test" preview of the new design is now available at www.pprd.odu.edu (please note: the content is not pulling live data yet - these are archived stories and postings that are serving as a placeholder).
The campus community is invited to navigate through the test site to preview the many enhancements that were made, including:
- Creation of an externally focused website that is better aligned with ODU's strategic goals;
- Simplified the design and removed the clutter;
- Enhanced navigation, including drop down menus and a new predictive search feature;
- Creation of a new model of web support for academic colleges - six ITS positions will support colleges to keep their pages fresh and up-to-date. This group of ITS professionals will also work with Strategic Communication and Marketing to continue enhancing the site's overall navigation and functionality.
In addition to these enhancements, the new site features a refresh of the header, navigation and interactive design, improved news and events section and an integrated social media presence to better tell the ODU story.
To enhance interactivity, the project team added thousands of new images to the University's data asset management system (the system for faculty and staff to add photos, video and other rich media content to their web pages, publications and more) and created new components for secondary-level pages.
