Strome College Dean Jeff Tanner Will Wrap Up 2015-16 Economics Club Speaker Series

In his first year as dean of Old Dominion University's Strome College of Business, Jeff Tanner has sought to raise the college's research profile and make it an indispensable resource for the Hampton Roads business community.
Tanner came to Old Dominion with a long track record of marketing research. A former professor of marketing at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and founder of the Baylor Business Collaboratory, Tanner is the author of 15 books, more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and more than 100 conference presentations.
He will provide the local business community with a snapshot of his marketing knowledge when he delivers the final ODU Economics Club of Hampton Roads lecture of the season on Wednesday, April 27.
Tanner's presentation, "Driving Data into Decision Making: Is There More to Big Data than Hype?" will be delivered at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is free for members of the Economics Club of Hampton Roads and $40 for non-members. Sign up HERE.
Non-members are encouraged to attend the talk, which will be one of Tanner's largest local addresses since he became dean of the Strome College.
Tanner's clients have included Cabela's, EMC, Lockhart Industries and Gallery Furniture. He has presented at CRM-Evolution, Teradata Partners, National Retail Federation's Big Show and E2MA's Red Diamond Congress.
The Economics Club of Hampton Roads is an organization for business and government executives and community leaders who share an interest in the practical implications of economic principles, trends and events. It was established in 1991 as a community service by Old Dominion University's former President, James V. Koch, and is administered under the supervision of an elected board by Tanner.
