April 11, 2016
The Old Dominion Choir and the Diehn Chorale, directed by Nancy Klein, will perform with the Virginia Symphony Chorus during the 20th anniversary Virginia International Tattoo.
Matinee performances will take place at the Scope arena, 201 E. Brambleton Ave. in Norfolk at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday-Friday, April 20-22, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 24.
Evening performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 21-23.
Tickets for the tattoo can be purchased at the Virginia Arts Festival webpage.
The Old Dominion singing groups are included as part of the largest cast ever assembled by the tattoo. The show will feature more than 1,500 performers from around the world in military bands, drill teams, bagpipers, drummers, Celtic dancers and other choirs.
The ODU and symphony choirs will be joined by singers from every high school choral program in Norfolk, as well as singers from Virginia Beach high schools, about 400 singers in all.
ODU will be represented by 58 singers in the choir and 18 in the Diehn Chorale. One of the pieces the combined choirs will perform will be conducted by Craig Jessop, one of the nation's leading choral conductors.
