Monarch Basketball: Donate Coats for Families at Games Dec. 9, 10

A coat donation drive will be held at the upcoming men's and women's basketball games Dec. 9 and 10

Old Dominion University is partnering with The Hampton Roads Show, WAVY-TV 10, WVBT FOX43 and other community partners to help keep Hampton Roads families warm this winter through the "10 On Your Side Coats for Families" campaign.

The initiative provides new and gently used coats to people in need in the Hampton Roads region.

Last year, more than 11,000 coats were collected from throughout the region. The gently used coats were cleaned by program partner Albano Cleaners, and then distributed to adults and children alike.

Old Dominion will collect coats at the upcoming men's and women's basketball games Dec. 9 and 10 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. The men's and women's games start at 8 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.

Coats may also be dropped off at any Southside Albano Cleaners locations or any peninsula Cho's Cleaners locations. Additionally, coats may be donated at any partner locations: Hampton Roads Honda, First Advantage Federal Credit Union, Riverfront Dentistry, Ashley Furniture Outlet and Grand Furniture Outlet.

Additionally, "10 On Your Side Coats for Families" radio partner Eagle 97.3, HOT 100 and 92.9 The Wave will collect coats at various live remotes throughout the campaign.
