June 04, 2015
The Technology Applications Center (TAC), a division of the Old Dominion University Business Gateway, will host a guide to "business translations" for local entrepreneurs Thursday, June 11.
The event, entitled "Translate, Be Your Own Super Hero," runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m., at the Old Dominion University Business Gateway office at 4111 Monarch Way in Norfolk.
It will feature Linda Richardson, an expert translations professional, sharing best practices that her clients use whether translating marketing materials, software user interface for international distribution or safety manuals to be used in the United States.
To register, sign up at the TAC website.
At the event, participants will learn how to promote their company, increasing sales with techniques like adding closed captioning to videos, adding languages to current content on their website and use of an interpreter.
Richardson has spoken at international conferences and throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Richardson is opening an office this summer in Hampton Roads and will be available as a local resource for TAC clients.
