New City of Norfolk Parking Program Makes University Village Meters more Convenient
April 02, 2015
The City of Norfolk is implementing a new parking program for meters located throughout the city, including in Old Dominion's University Village.
Beginning April 3, a program called Passport Parking by MobilePay will be unveiled. This new feature will allow users to pay for parking by phone, and will allow users to "plug their meter" with more payment through a mobile app.
Merchants will also have an opportunity to pay for their patrons' parking by opening a debit account and giving a validation code to the customer. This merchant validation service allows merchants to offer discount parking fees and run promotions; get real-time reporting of validation activity; and integrate validation into their business Facebook page
Passport Parking can be utilized throughout Norfolk. However it is not available at any meters in Old Dominion parking garages.
Instructional stickers about Passport Parking will be placed on meters in University Village, providing more information about the program.
For more information about the Passport Parking merchant validation service, see the Passport Parking WEBSITE.
