Social Media Expert Speaks Thursday at Strome Entrepreneurial Center
February 03, 2015
Old Dominion University's Strome Entrepreneurial Center seeks to encourage students to find their inner entrepreneur, no matter where their passion lies.
In that spirit, the Center is sponsoring regular events featuring local entrepreneurs, who will inspire and instruct ODU students about how to be more entrepreneurial in their own lives - whether by starting a business, or by taking control of their careers.
Matt Paddock, a member of digital marketing and advertising agency Grow, and a social media expert, will speak at the Strome Entrepreneurial Center on Kaufman Mall on Thursday, Feb. 5. The event, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., is free to all students, and pizza will be served.
Paddock is director of engagement for award-winning, interactive marketing and advertising studio Grow, a job he assumed in 2013 after 12 years as director of social strategy and public relations at Dominion Enterprises. With Grow, Paddock is helping transform the digital experience across multiple platforms - in websites, online ads, viral marketing, social networking and device applications.
Based in downtown Norfolk, but serving a worldwide client base, Grow is a digital agency with a passion for big ideas, little details, and a better approach to creating world-class interactive experiences. Grow's clients include brands such as Google, HBO, FedEx, Doritos and BFGoodrich.
The Strome Entrepreneurial Center was created through a gift by the Strome Family Foundation, led by ODU alumnus Mark Strome, and his wife Tammy Strome. It strives to play a leading role in creating a campus-wide entrepreneurial culture, supporting students from every Old Dominion University college through every stage of the entrepreneurial lifecycle.
