ODU Hosts Seminar in Trading Room and Research Lab Friday, Dec. 12.

Old Dominion University's Strome College of Business will host a seminar on Dec. 12 for investors seeking to increase their market savvy through the use of Bloomberg Terminals.

The three-hour seminar, from 9 a.m. to noon, will be led by instructor Andrew Cohen, manager of the Gregory A. Lumsden Trading Room and Research Lab in Constant Hall. It is designed for new or entry level financial managers and finance executives interested in sharpening their market research skills using the Trading Room and Research Lab's powerful Bloomberg Terminals.

The workshop is open to the public. The $295 fee includes three hours of instruction on the Bloomberg Terminals and free parking.

Registration information is available online at www.odu.edu/execed, or by contacting Charlotte Anders, director of business development programs, at 757-683-4603.

Seating is limited to the first 20 participants who register. Attendees will be awarded .3 continuing education units for the three hours of instruction.

The Gregory A. Lumsden Trading Room and Research Lab opened in 2013 and contains 24 Bloomberg Terminals, which use a top-down global perspective to analyze markets, providing insider analysis from stock valuations; environmental, social and government monitoring; and advanced charting of future financial performance.

Cohen came to Old Dominion University as an instructor after two decades of work as a financial trader on Wall Street. His experience includes managing multimillion-dollar portfolios for top financial firms. At ODU, he created the Wall Street 101 class, which is designed to provide information and expertise about investing to students who have no background in it.
