President Broderick Recipient of Inaugural Man of Quality Award

Old Dominion President John R. Broderick was recently honored with the inaugural "ODU Man of Quality" monthly award for November that was presented by the University's Women's Center.

The award's mission is to engage monarchs in productive, respectful conversations about healthy masculinity, gender equality, and ending violence against women.

President Broderick was recognized for showing the characteristics of being a Man of Quality by participating in the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes and Fear 2 Freedom events which work to end violence against women and support survivors. His zero tolerance policy for sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and harassment was also noted by the selection committee.

For the monthly award, the University community will be able to nominate students who show the characteristics of a Man of Quality. The Man of Quality committee will also choose a faculty, staff or administrator to be honored each month.
