ODU History Department Participating in Upcoming WWI symposium at MacArthur Memorial

On Nov. 14-15, Old Dominion University's Department of History will partner with the MacArthur Memorial and the Hampton Roads Naval Museum for a World War I Centennial Symposium.

Over the course of the two-day symposium at the MacArthur Memorial, eight lectures will be presented by an international group of experts and a panel discussion will be held featuring members of the ODU history department. There will also be book signings, a special exhibit on the 42nd Rainbow Division in World War I, and other displays by vendors and WWI commemorative organizations.

All activities will be held in the MacArthur Memorial Visitors Center at 198 Bank Street, in Norfolk. The event is free, but registration is required. For more information, or to register, visit the World War I Symposium website or call 757-441-2985.

For those who cannot make it, CSPAN will broadcast Saturday's event live on television from 9:30 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. and a taped broadcast will replay at 8 p.m. (EST).
