ODU Faculty Recital Upcoming at Chandler Recital Hall

The Old Dominion University Department of Music will present a faculty recital Sept. 30 that features a world premiere as well as performances of classical favorites.
Monday's recital will comprise three baroque works for tenor, harpsichord and piano, sackbut and cello performed by Brian Nedvin, Stephen Coxe, Mike Hall and Jeff Phelps, respectively.
Included in the performance will be a set of Lieder composed by Hugo Wolf, an aria from Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi," a world-premiere song cycle by Coxe (who will also be playing the harpsichord and piano) and two selections from the Jewish liturgy (Helfman's "Sh'ma Koleinu" and Ravel's "Kaddish").
The 7:30 p.m. performance will be in Chandler Recital Hall of the Diehn Center for the Performing Arts on 49th Street. Admission is free.
