IMPORTANT DATES:
Deadline to Register: Saturday, October 12, 2024
CATEGORIES
Applicants must be within one of the following age ranges at the time of the competition:
o Category 1: Up to 9 years old
o Category 2: Between 10-13 years old (inclusive)
o Category 3: Between 13-16 years old (inclusive)
o Category 4: Between 16-19 years old (inclusive)
REPERTOIRE
Every applicant must submit at least two (2) pieces within the following time limits. Applicants may submit pieces that are longer, but the jurors may not listen to the entire submission beyond the time restriction:
o Category 1: up to 7 minutes
o Category 2: up to 10 minutes
o Category 3: up to 13 minutes
o Category 4: up to 25 minutes
All pieces must be solo works for piano
All pieces must be performed from memory.
Single Movements of Multi movement works are acceptable.
AWARDS
Cash Prizes will be awarded in each category.
Two Grand Prizes will be awarded to High School Seniors in Category 4 comprising half to full scholarships to attend Old Dominion University.
- Trial lessons are available to all participants that are High School Seniors.
