Description
Eastern Virginia Brass with the I. Sherman Greene Chorale, the Diehn Chorale of Old Dominion University, and the Schola Cantorum. The sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War features a world premiere work by Adolphus Hailstork. The massive choral and brass premiere, "When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed," based on a text by Walt Whitman, is preceded by the last movement, "Epilogue: Cauldron of Peace," from Hailstork's new work for brass trio, "Ghosts in Grey and Blue."
