About this Program

This minor is designed to provide students with a robust training in ethical reasoning as it appears within a variety of applied fields, and an ability to analyze moral arguments proposed in serious discussions of any subject. This minor is designed for students concerned with ethical issues in their chosen major or intended career, especially those who wish to work on regulation, policy, and professional standards within their field or profession.

What are the requirements to apply for Applied Ethics at ODU?
Students entering the Minor program in Applied Ethics should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.
  • For completion of a minor, a student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all upper-level courses specified as a requirement for the minor and complete a minimum of six hours in the minor through courses offered by Old Dominion University.
