History

The Cybersecurity, Communications & Networking Innovation (CCNI) Lab at Old Dominion University was founded in 2013 by Dr. ChunSheng Xin through the generous support of Old Dominion University and National Science Foundation (NSF).


Vision

The CCNI Lab will be nationally and internationally recognized as a leading research Lab in cybersecurity, communications, and networking, by carrying out transformative research, attracting significant external funding, and bringing forth profound economical and societal impacts. Furthermore, the Lab will become a vibrant education center to serve the students of the university as well as its region.


Mission

The mission of the CCNI Lab is to carry out transformative research to advance the state of the arts in the fields of cybersecurity, communications, and networking, in particular the security for cognitive radio networks, wireless communications, and wireless networking. The Lab promotes the integration of research into education through vibrant curriculum design, program strengthening, and innovative outreach activities to the Hampton Roads region.
