Doug has served at Old Dominion University for over 25 years, working as desktop support, systems engineer, systems manager, technical director, executive director, and as the Interim Associate Vice President of Information Technology and CIO. He accepted the responsibilities of Information Security and Identity Management in 2011. As Executive Director, responsibilities included strategic and operational planning, Information Security Program, in-house identity and middle-ware development, and University Records Management. In 2023, he accepted the role of Interim CIO. He enjoys working with very talented and committed teams of technologists, managers, and directors within his organization, and stakeholders across the university. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy, and served for a period as a United States Naval Officer where he earned a Navy Achievement Medal and other recognition. Happily married for 34 years, he is the proud father of three, each having earned degrees from Old Dominion University.
