Students interested in accessing funds through the TEACH grant program at Old Dominion University must adhere to the following policy.
- Be admitted into an approved teacher education program. The teacher education program must be in a critical shortage area identified either by federal regulation or in the Top 5 Critical Shortage areas for the Virginia Department of Education in the academic year the student is admitted into the approved teacher education program.
- Have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours towards the bachelor's degree program.
- Complete the financial aid application through the FAFSA website studentaid.gov
- Request a TEACH grant financial aid memo from the Office of Clinical Experiences 757-683-5179.
- Wait to receive notification for joint counseling on TEACH grant program regulations from the ODU financial aid office.
- Complete counseling sessions online as indicated in the financial aid email.
- Be a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.
