Research

Our faculty brings a wide variety of experience from health-related settings combined with theory and research to the classroom. Their expertise extends past their position as faculty members, as many serve on national and international review panels for organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health. Students have an opportunity to participate and work closely with faculty in on-going research and community projects. Explore the variety of programs the school offers and find yourself pursuing a career in a leading field.

Undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines within and outside of the university can pursue research collaborations with faculty within the university and its centers. Examples of research interests of faculty from the school include emerging issues in global health, capacity building and needs assessment, environmental health, occupational health, disaster management and mitigation, climate change and health, surveillance, injury prevention, risk communication and chronic diseases in vulnerable populations. Past students have pursued grants such as the PURS grant. For more information regarding research opportunities, internships and service learning please contact Dr. Steve Becker.
