Bringing innovators, thought-leaders, and entrepreneurs together
Join us once a month for our popular networking event, unWINEd™, where you can mingle and "unwind" over drinks and spirits with the best company this region has to offer. Attendees typically include a broad range of business startups, investors, university faculty, business leaders, and entrepreneurial thought-leaders.
In partnership with Hampton Roads businesses, each month's unWINEd event is hosted by a different area business at the venue of their choice, giving the host a unique opportunity to showcase their company and products/services.
Attend unWINEd
Where: Each event is different, because each event host is unique. You may find yourself at an established local company or an up-and-coming start-up. No matter the destination, the vibe is congenial and the company is lively.
When: Once a month, usually on a Wednesday.
Cost: There is currently no cost to attend.
What's it like? Expect a vibrant, casual atmosphere where you can connect with other visionaries like yourself, usually between 50-100 in attendance. Don't forget your business cards -- you never know who you might meet!

Host unWINEd
Host or attend an event!
In support of Hampton Roads businesses, The Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE) is now hosting unWINEd at various locations and businesses throughout the region. The host can be as creative as they prefer when planning how and what to provide, such as food and beverages, appetizers, open bar, name tags, etc.
Details
We manage all marketing and registration for unWINEd events, leveraging the distinctive network of ODU and IIE to drive new clientele to the host. After the date has been set, we only need a brief description of the host's business, directions to the venue, and any special instructions (such as parking, entrance, etc.) to start marketing the event. The host will receive 10-15 minutes to open the unWINEd event with welcoming remarks, and to showcase their business and products/services during that time.
