Dragas Center for Economic Analysis & Policy
The Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy in the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University undertakes a wide range of economic, demographic, transportation and defense-oriented studies. For two decades, the center and its predecessors have produced the highly regarded State of the Region Report for Hampton Roads.
Loyalty Science Lab
Loyalty Science Lab is a loyalty think tank housed in the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University that creates and promotes cutting-edge scientific research on brand and customer loyalty. Through collaborative efforts between marketing practitioners and academic researchers from multiple disciplines and multiple industries, the Loyalty Science Lab identifies high-priority loyalty-related issues, engages in deep, evidence-based scientific research on these issues, and disseminates the insight to benefit loyalty research and practice.
E.V. Williams Center for Real Estate
The E.V. Williams Center for Real Estate strives to connect those engaged or interested in real estate and economic development to the research, curriculum and students at Old Dominion University (ODU). Through programming, research initiatives and publications, the Center partners with its members, ODU alumni and business leaders to educate the community and provide ODU students with enrichment experiences that facilitate their professional development.
Insurance & Financial Services Center
The Insurance and Financial Services Center plans an annual career fair, brings speakers to campus, and other campus events for students, industry professionals, and the community; promotes scholarships, internships, career, and industry conference travel opportunities for students; prepares the next generation of talent for careers with majors and minors in risk management and insurance (RMI) and personal financial planning (PFP); sponsors a student club (Gamma Iota Sigma); and funds faculty research.
Maritime Institute
The Maritime Institute provides a focal point for educational services and research programming that is responsive to the port-related needs of Hampton Roads, Virginia and other port-related facilities in the world.
Lumsden Trading Room & Research Lab
The students who take advantaqe of the resources in the Gregory A. Lumsden Trading Room and Research Lab will have an appealing skill to put on their resume. They can even use the lab to earn a Bloomberg Essentials Certificate or prepare for and take the Bloomberg Aptitude Test.
Jensen Communications Lab
The lab, made possible through a gift from George '70 and Linda '72 Jensen, will provide an immersive, technology-rich laboratory and classroom setting for students to learn and develop tools to empower them in the workplace. This lab contains the latest communication technology so that students, no matter their field of business, can be successful.
Thurmond School of Professional Sales & Negotiation
The Thurmond School of Professional Sales & Negotiation was created from the generous donation of Dick Thurmond. A core mission of the Thurmond School is to provide access to negotiation skills education in underserved Hampton Roads communities. His vision to empower people through negotiations is central to our core mission.
Hudgins Transitional Entrepreneurship Lab
The Hudgins Transitional Entrepreneurship Lab was created from the generous donation of Marsha K. Hudgins. Our vision is to educate and empower people in the Hampton Roads community to initiate, build, and leverage entrepreneurial ventures to transition their lives and the prospects of underserved communities. We do so through a combination of generating and disseminating research, connecting local entrepreneurial mentors with mentees, and running a series of community workshops.
