Join the Monarch Internship and Co-Op Office as a Student Store and Clothing Closet Assistant! This Federal Work Study position offers an opportunity to contribute to the Monarch community while gaining valuable experience in customer service, inventory management, and community engagement. The Student Store and Clothing Closet Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of The Monarch Way and Monarch Clothing Closet, providing essential services and resources to fellow students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily operations of The Monarch Way and the Monarch Clothing Closet including cashier duties, restocking shelves, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus guests visiting the store.
- Manage inventory of merchandise available for purchase through The Monarch Way.
- Assist in the organization and distribution of donations to the clothing closet, ensuring items are accessible and neatly displayed.
- Collaborate with other student workers and staff to promote store events, sales, and initiatives.
- Uphold store policies and procedures to ensure a positive and inclusive shopping experience for all customers.
- Contribute ideas for improving store operations and enhancing the student shopping experience.
Qualifications:
- Must be an UNDERGRADUATE degree-seeking student eligible for SUMMER Federal Work Study funding.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time during the summer (6 credit hours).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities.
- Interest in business, fashion merchandising, or related fields preferred.
- Prior experience in a retail or customer service setting is a plus, but not required.
Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate student class schedules. The selected student will work approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours during peak times and special events.
