Graduate Assistant Position Opening for Masters’ students in Counseling, Higher Education and Psychology

The Graduate Assistant position within the Advisor Support and Completion Initiative Office offers a unique opportunity to contribute to student success and retention efforts while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Advising Students on Academic Progress: Provide guidance and support to students regarding their academic progress, assisting them in understanding degree requirements, identifying potential barriers, and developing academic plans for success.
• Supporting Students Facing Challenges: Help students facing academic challenges. Collaborate with students to create action plans and connect them with appropriate resources for academic support.
• Providing Resources to Improve Academic Success: Curate and distribute resources aimed at enhancing academic success, including tutoring services, study skills workshops, time management tools, and academic support programs. Assist students in accessing and utilizing these resources effectively.
• Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work closely with academic advisors, faculty members, student support services, and other campus units to ensure coordinated support for students. Collaborate in developing and implementing initiatives to improve student retention and completion rates.
• Assisting in Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and initiatives designed to promote student success and degree completion. Assist in organizing workshops, events, and initiatives focused on academic skill development and goal attainment.
