Documentary Film - "Rescue in the Philippines: Refuge from the Holocaust"

"Rescue in The Philippines" is a one-hour documentary of the pre-viously untold story of how the five Frieder brothers, Cincinnati businessmen making two-for-a-nickel cigars in pre-WWII Manila, together with Manuel Quezon, the charismatic first president of the Philippines, Paul McNutt, US High Commissioner and former gover-nor of Indiana (preparing for his own presidential campaign) and an ambitious Army Colonel named Dwight Eisenhower - helped 1,200 Jews escape the Nazis and immi-grate to the Philippines.

Helen Epstein - Electronic Publishing

Helen Epstein (www.helenepstein.com) is the author of six books of non-fiction, editor and translator of three more, and the co-founder of Plunkett Lake Ebooks (www.plunkettlakepress.com), an electronic press that publishes classics of non-fiction. PLP has just epublished its 101st book and its list includes several of Helen's own titles.

In this noon talk, she will discuss how she and her husband got into electronic publishing and take you through the process from A to Z, sing their first original ebook, Archivist on a Bicycle (which you can download to your Kindle, ipad or iphone free of charge from amazon.com) as an example.
