Center for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships

At ODU we understand that as a student, you have unique needs that require a wide array of campus resources. The Center for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships is here to assist you with your transition to the university. The services and programs offered to you as a Monarch are endless so take advantage of every opportunity. We encourage you to Explore, Experience, and Engage!

All degree-seeking students must be advised prior to registering each semester. An advisor degree-plan hold is placed on each student's account -- this block is removed during the advising session. Our office is located in the Student Success Center. You may contact the office at (757) 683-3699 or advisor@odu.edu.

Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships is to support undergraduate students in their academic, career, and personal goals by offering comprehensive services to promote student retention and success; as well as to provide leadership to academic partners on effective practices and University policies.

From the Executive Director

The academic advising process is one in which, when you reflect upon your college career, you will give very little thought. However, believe it or not, the one-on-one sessions you have with your advisor are the most valuable and life-changing events in your life.

At Old Dominion University, the academic advising program is designed to teach you how to explore your academic and career options, examine your strengths, and set goals that will carry you throughout your lifetime. Your advising sessions are a chance to discuss these areas in your life with someone who knows a thing or two about exploring a major, examining aptitudes, and establishing aspirations. How lucky you are!

Welcome to Old Dominion University.
