The Old Dominion baseball team won its first Conference USA championship in dramatic fashion, beating Louisiana Tech, 7-5, in 10 innings on May 30 at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston, Louisiana. The Monarchs then advanced to the championship game of the NCAA tournament's Columbia Regional before losing to Virginia, 4-3, in 10 innings.
