Across Campus - A Photo Essay
It's that time of year for timeless tales, memorable rhymes and everyone's favorite anthropomorphic cat in a red and white-striped hat. The University Village Bookstore celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday, with its annual Cat in the Hat program on March 3. Various readings featured faculty members from the Child Learning Resource Center as well as REACH: Reading Enriches All Children - a local volunteer reading organization. In addition, art education students offered activities and games at the Art Gallery, which also included an appearance by the Cat in the Hat. The free event, which supports the national children's literacy initiative "Read Across America," attracts more than 300 students, parents and children. Photos David B. Hollingswort
