Old Dominion University's Neighbors and Friends

Old Dominion University has been a significant presence in Norfolk's northwest for the past 84 years, with an outsized impact on the region - economically, academically and culturally. A unique perspective on the school's growth, however, can be found in the Old Dominion University Archives and Special Collections.

Across Campus - A Photo Essay

On Jan. 19 much of the country took time to honor the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. through a variety of activities and remembrance events. At ODU, the legacy of the iconic civil rights crusader was marked by the 31st annual Community Leaders' Breakfast and a Day of Service. Today's gallery features photos from the breakfast, where Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe delivered the keynote address, and during service projects where ODU students volunteered their time at the Norfolk Union Mission Ministries and Norfolk Food Bank.
