Nancy Xu, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Old Dominion University, has been awarded one of 36 National Science Foundation (NSF) Early Concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER) to support her work in the development of photostable nanoparticle imaging probes and sensors for the study of how individual neurons communicate.

Across Campus - A Photo Essay
On Thursday, Oct. 9, the ODU Office of Counseling Services hosted the "Alive! Mental Health Fair" in the Webb Student Center's North Mall. The fair was created to provide an interesting and educational suicide prevention program for students. Activities included an art therapy and graffiti exhibit that allowed students to create their own artistic expressions on a large canvass as well as a "Create-Your-Own-Secret Exhibit" where students wrote secrets on postcards, in advance of the fair, that were displayed during the event.
