Across Campus - A Photo Essay
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, ODU President John R. Broderick was joined by a large contingent of students, faculty and staff for the annual satellite Walk to End Alzheimer's that was held during the lunchtime hour on Kaufman Mall. Designed to promote awareness and prevention of the disease, the event included healthy snacks, giveaways and opportunities to learn tips to prevent the onset of Alzheimer's. By Chuck Thomas

Soon, Old Dominion University will get a new class of Monarchs - Monarch Butterflies, that is. Here, Marcus Jones, greenhouse conservator for the Kaplan Orchid Conservatory, explains a Monarch Butterfly exhibit to ODU employees Sifiya Hancock (middle) and Charlotte Kimbro. The hanging chrysalises contain caterpillars that will emerge as Monarch Butterflies in 10 to 14 days.
