Tim Hopkinson Named NSCAA Soccer All-American
Old Dominion senior forward Tim Hopkinson (Nottingham, England) has been named a second team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-American, as announced Friday. He is the 13th Monarch to earn All-America honors.
Hopkinson was a first team NSCAA All-South Region selection and semifinalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy, where he was the top vote getter in the fan poll. Hopkinson was Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Year, and was selected to the All-Tournament team.
A first team All-C-USA selection, Hopkinson led the conference in total goals and total points, and scored his second career hat trick with three goals against VMI. The team co-captain was selected C-USA Player of the Week on Sept. 23 and Oct. 14, and NSCAA National Player of the Week on Oct. 15.
He ranks 11th nationally in total goals with 12, and 15th nationally in total points with 28. Hopkinson finished his career at ODU as the school's fourth all-time leader with 33 career goals, third all-time in career points with 85 and seventh all-time in career assists with 19. He also had a league-best six game-winning goals this season.
