ODU Theatre Students, Faculty Earn National Recognition

Eight students and four faculty members from Old Dominion have received national attention for their work on two recent Theatre Program productions.

The recognition came from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), a national theater program that involves more than 600 colleges and universities. The organization recognized the ODU students and faculty for work on two shows during the fall 2013 season, "reasons to be pretty" and "The Mystery of Edwin Drood."

Four of the ODU students received award nominations for acting while the other students received nominations for their production contributions. The two faculty members, Katherine Hammond and Jennifer Baker, received Meritorious Achievement Awards.

The nominations (listed below) will make the students eligible for a regional competition for scholarships in February.

KCACTF sends representatives to assess shows at participating colleges and nominate students who have shown exceptional, professional work. The organization also acknowledges excellence in the work of faculty.
