William Q. Judge, Ph.D. E.V. Williams Chair of Strategic Leadership & Professor of Strategic Management
WILLIAM (BILL) JUDGE serves as the first E.V. Williams Chair of Strategic Leadership within the College of Business & Public Administration at Old Dominion University (ODU). Dr. Judge's teaching, research, and consulting expertise is in the area of strategy processes and strategic leadership.
He has published many scholarly articles in such journals as Academic of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, California Management Review, Journal of World Business, and Corporate Governance. In addition, he published a book in 1999 entitled, The Leader's Shadow: Exploring and Developing Executive Character through Sage Publications and has earned six different teaching distinctions and awards. |
Bill served as a trustee within a large non-profit health system in the 1990s, and has served or is serving on the Academy of Management Executive, Academy of Management Learning & Education and Corporate Governance editorial boards. Also, he led the Senior Executive MBA program at the University of Tennessee to its first international ranking within the Financial Times, and was a U.S. Fulbright scholar at MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia in 2001.
Bill earned his Ph.D. and M.B.A. degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and he earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Lehigh University. Bill is married to Sharon Judge, who is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education also at ODU. Together, they are raising two children, Colin and Anastasia in Virginia Beach.
