STUDENT EVALUATION CRITERIA

Evaluation is partially based on two written examinations that are designed to reflect the knowledge base (32.5% each, for a total of 65% of the final grade). Make-up exams will be allowed only if approved by the instructor in advance.

The remainder of the grade (35%) will be determined by oral and written presentation of each student's case study, testing results, and exercise prescription (25%) and by satisfactory class participation (10%). Oral presentations will be done during the final week of class, but the written presentations will be due no later than Tuesday, June 24th, in class. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Presentation Guidelines and Expectations
For the purposes of developing a presentation, each student will be given a "subject" with a particular medical history or special circumstance. While all testing will be performed by all students in class, he or she must comment in both the oral and the written presentation as to which method of testing would be most appropriate for his or her subject and why. It is also expected that in the written presentations, all such decisions and explanations will be referenced (using one of the course books or an independent journal article). The presentation must include the subject's medical history, testing results, and recommended exercise prescription as well as the above-mentioned referencing.
