COURSE OBJECTIVES

Knowledge:

1.  Acquire basic knowledge relative to cellular metabolism during rest and adjustments to exercise.
2.  Acquire basic knowledge relative to the metabolic demands of exercise.
3.  Acquire basic knowledge relative to the neuromuscular responses and adaptations to exercise.
4.  Acquire basic knowledge relative to the neuro-endocrinological responses and adaptations to exercise.
5.  Acquire basic knowledge relative to the respiratory responses and adaptations to exercise.
6.  Demonstrate through five examinations that the knowledge base has been attained.

Skills:

7.  Be able to calculate the energy costs of various exercise tasks.

Attitudes:

Appreciate the health benefits of exercise.
