                 TEACHING PHYLOSOPHY

 

My teaching philosophy is to proactively model behavior consistent with an ethical, practicing educator. My goal is to actively engage students in the processes of creating, applying, assimilating, and transferring useful and usable knowledge. I accomplish this goal by facilitating understanding of how theories, concepts, and tools can be fully or partially applied to the students’ workplace and experience. My teaching vision is to be recognized by students as having made a positive impact in their lives through my knowledge facilitation. I use the principles of cooperative learning and active learning to facilitate understanding and to build life long learning motivation and capabilities in my students.

 

 

                 RESEARCH PHYLOSOPHY

 

My research vision is to be an excellent multidisciplinary investigator.  My goal is to generate, transfer, and apply multi-disciplinary knowledge that addresses current and future continuous improvement challenges of knowledge-intensive organizations. Areas of interest include: Project Management, Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning, Organizational Transformation and Change, Crisis Management, Cooperative Learning, and the interconnection among these areas.

 

 

                 SERVICE PHYLOSOPHY

 

My service vision is to be recognized by colleagues as having made substantial contributions to the discipline of engineering and technology management, as well as, having contributed to the capabilities and performance of academic institutions. My service vision also includes to be recognized by members of the community as having made significant contributions to the continuous improvement of organizations and society.
