Derek Waggoner first joined the Mazzer group as an undergraduate in May 2008. He has since finished a BS degree in Biochemistry, and joined the ODU graduate program working on his PhD.
Derek has done research on the DNA damage caused by airborne particulate matter, and the effects of airborne particulates on brain cells in culture. He has also served as a TA for our organic chemistry labs, and is always an enthusiastic participant in our "Pie-a-Professor" fundraiser at the end of the Spring Semester.
