Dr. Kaprea F. Hoquee (Formerly: Johnson) is an assistant professor of Counseling here at Old Dominion University, since Fall 2011. She  teaches several courses on the school counseling track, including introduction to school counseling and school counseling program development; in addition she has taught mental health courses (e.g. Group counseling), internship and practicum, the doctoral level research course and three interprofessional courses taught through a collaboration with The College of Health Sciences. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Hoquee has been apart of several teams that have won grants totaling over $2million dollars.  Her grant work focuses on interprofessional collaboration in education and in practice with professional counselors and allied health professionals. Her research interest include, counseling urban youth and children, interprofessional collaboration in education and practice, perceptions of professional counselors from other healthcare professionals, and the impact of intersectionality on marginalized clients. While Dr. Hoquee is involved in research, enjoys teaching, and is engaged in community service she also enjoys cooking, painting, traveling, and writing short stories.
