Dr. Demiralp is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics. She received her Ph.D. in economics from the Johns Hopkins University in 2006 and her B.A. from Davidson College in 1997. Her research interests are in the fields of labor economics, applied microeconomics and microeconometrics. Her primary research focuses on understanding the determinants of occupational choice and its implications on the labor market dynamics. Her work also involves issues related to entrepreneurship, job-to-job transitions, occupational mobility and domestic migration. She teaches advanced microeconomics, intermediate microeconomic theory, labor economics and managerial economics.
